La Petite white designer table light

Somewhat slanted: the designer table light La Petite At first sight, the La Petite table light looks very classical. A prototypical lampshade, cone-shaped and white, is mounted on the similarly white frame of a table lamp. But it is precisely this frame that gives La Petite that certain something extra or slightly “slanted”. The rod which attaches the lampshade to the base is slanted. The rod doesn’t lead up into the centre of the lampshade as might be expected but rather simply touches it on the outer edge. The lampshade has been closed at the top and bottom with a diffuser to ensure glare-free light distribution. Designer duo Quaglio and Simonelli are from Italy but work and live in Paris. After two years of working with the French designer Philippe Starck, they decided to open their own design studio. They designed the lighting series La Petite for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide. Artemide is considered one of the world’s leading manufacturers of designer lighting. Based in Pregnana near Milan, the company was founded in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi. The structure of the company includes not only a global sales network but also five production facilities, two glass factories and a research and innovation centre with test laboratories.
