Louis Poulsen PH Artichoke, polished hanging light

Artichoke hanging lamp: an artistic designer object When you look at the Artichoke hanging lamp, you automatically think of the homonymous plant from the aster family, whose edible flower heads are eaten as vegetables. The association is due to the 72 leaf-like metal elements, which combine to make up the body of the Artichoke hanging lamp. The lamp is still largely made by hand to guarantee a high level of quality. The precisely angled leaves are distributed across twelve individual rows, each with six leaves. They serve to create very homogeneous and glare-free lighting, just as its creator, designer Poul Henningsen, desired for his light creations. During his time working with the Louis Poulsen company from 1925 to 1967, Poul Henningsen created numerous lights which always reflected his views on the duality between design and light. The Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen stands for high-quality lights and has established itself as a key producer of architectural and decorative lighting thanks to its close co-operation with renowned designers and architects.
