Eclisse red designer table light

A modern classic: Eclisse table light by Vico Magistretti The Eclisse table light with its spherical shapes and expressive colouring not only looks like a model from the 60s, it actually comes from this time. Vico Magistretti designed this small table light in 1967 and received the Compasso d’Oro for it in the same year. Today, Eclisse is one of the modern classics or masterpieces of Artemide. The special qualities of Eclisse are not only its origins, but also its mode of operation, which reflects its name, namely an eclipse, in other words a solar or lunar eclipse. The shade is designed so that the outer hemisphere is supplemented by an inner one. This inner, white hemisphere can be rotated so that you can shield the light source and thus the light either half, almost completely or not at all. This means that the table lamp can provide both direct and more or less indirect light. During his lifetime, the designer, architect and urban planner Vico Magistretti worked for the Italian company Artemide. Artemide is one of the world’s most famous designer lighting manufacturers. Our own production facilities, glass factories and our own innovation and research centre form the basis for the success of Artemide along with our well-known national and international designers.
